The Internet Archive, a non-profit organization that operates an online library, violated the copyrights of four major US publishers, a U.S. judge ruled on Friday. While many of the books scanned and lent to readers were in the public domain, 3.6 million are protected by valid copyrights, and the publishers sued the non-profit in 2020 over 127 books.
