Eternals writer-director Chloé Zhao was inspired by Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar, Alejandro González Iñárritu’s The Revenant, Terrence Malick movies, and Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey for new Marvel movie that is grounded (like her Oscar-winning Nomadland) yet fantastical.
