UK Online Safety Bill Proposes Hefty Fines, Criminal Action Against Social Media Executives Over Online Abuse
UK Online Safety Bill seeks to hold social media firms accountable for online abuse. The companies could be fined up to 10 percent of turnover or GBP 18 million if they failed to stamp out online abuses such as racist hate crimes, while senior managers could also face criminal action.
